Wisemans Retreat and Golf Club is planning to add a wave pool to their resort on the outskirts of north west Sydney. The wave pool will use Surf Loch technology to produce waves in a 13,735 m² (3.4 acre) wave pool.
Wave Size and Shape
Surf Loch and Wisemans Retreat have yet to release details about the size and shape of waves that the wave pool will produce. Surf Loch’s modular wave pool technology gives it the ability to create a variety of left- and right-hand waves, so it’s a safe assumption that the wave pool at Wisemans Retreat will appeal to surfers of all levels.
Frequency and Capacity
The frequency and capacity of the wave pool are unknown.
The Wave Pool
The 3.4 acre wave pool will hold 30,000 cubic meters of water. That water will be drawn from the Hawkesbury river and filtered to meet and exceed the NSW Public Health Act 2010.
Around the Wave Pool
The wave pool area will include a beach and lounge area. The resort already offers a restaurant, golf course, and 54 hotel rooms.
The wave pool will only be accessible to guests at Wisemans Retreat.
The Retreat submitted an application to the Hills Shire Council on January 23. Depending on the development speed for URBNSURF Sydney, the wave pool at Wisemans Retreat could be first or second to welcome surfers to the Sydney area.
