URBNSURF Melbourne Opens January 6th
URBNSURF Melbourne will host its first public surf sessions on Monday, January 6th. This historic date will mark the opening of the first public Wavegarden Cove wave pool in the southern hemisphere, and the second in the world (behind The Wave in Bristol).
The URBNSURF Melbourne wave pool is arguably the best publicly available wave pool in the world in terms of surfing experience and commercial potential. It can create waves up that measure up to 7′ high on the face of the wave with barrel, turn and air sections. It can also produce waves ideal for beginners or intermediate surfers practicing their first turns. Depending on your perspective, the Surf Ranch or BSR Surf Resort may also be in the running.

If you want to surf the waves you seen in the promo videos, don’t plan on surfing on January 6th, though. As of the publishing of this post, there were no advanced sessions left on the 6th and only a few left on the 7th.
