The Vans Stab High contest is moving beyond BSR Surf Resort to take the show to URBNSURF Melbourne on March 21st, 2020. Not only will spectators get to watch professionals take on a never-before-seen ramp, but their ticket money will go to Greening Australia, a group who specialize in tree planting and carbon offset initiatives.
The best aerialists from around the world will at URBNSURF Melbourne to push the limits on a new launch pad designed by the 2019 Stab High winner, Chippa Wilson, Harry Bryant from Stab and Dion Agius. They’ll wave architects will be bending waves to their will using Wavegarden’s patented modular technology.
Spectators will also be delighted to hear that the Vans Acid drop, hosted by Nathan Fletcher, is back. Surfers will jump from the URBNSURF wave pool wall straight into a wave. With a smaller wall, compared to BSR Surf Resort in Waco, fans can expect more tech tricks and successful landings.
The highest air of the event will be awarded the “Monster Air” award, which includes a check for $20k. The winner of the entire event will take home $25k.
Fans are encouraged to attend in person, but those who can’t make it will be able to watch a live broadcast on stabhigh.com. Again, all ticket sales will help Australia recover from the devastating fires, so get online and enjoy the show.
