Wave Pool in a Rotterdam Canal

Average Reviews

Description

Rif010 is the name of a wave pool planned for an existing canal in the Netherlands. The name comes from the Dutch word for “reef” and the local postal code “010”.

The latest plans include wave generation technology from Surf Loch. When the wave pool is built, it will produce waves for beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers.

After a swell is generated by the chambers of the Surf Loch technology, it will first form into a more advanced right-hand wave that is up to 1.5m (5 ft) high on the face of the wave. That wave can be ridden for about 12 seconds. Then the wave will reform into a smaller, gentler whitewater roller ideal for beginners with a hight of .75m (2.5 ft).

Unfortunately, the project is moving slowly and may have stalled. The last updates to the Rif010 social media are from early 2019.
