Unveiling the new reef in Mexico

On April 16 at 6:30 PM, the California Surf Club will host the unveiling of a newly completed artificial surf reef off the coast of Mexico.

In a fireside conversation, reef designer Simon Brandi Mortensen and Raised Water Research founder Peter Indelicato will reveal the reef’s location and debut never-before-seen footage of the reef in action. The discussion will also explore the science behind artificial reefs, revisit notable surf reef projects, and examine what’s ahead for reef development along the California coast.

Set on the Redondo Waterfront, the California Surf Club is a 21,000-square-foot coastal compound designed as a gathering place for the South Bay community—centered around connection, conversation, and the ocean.
